Pepe Moquillaza se va a Milán con nuestro pisco bajo el brazo. Justamente para 28 de Julio. Allá planea alzar la copa llena con nuestro destilado y hacerle honores: darlo a conocer y a probar al mundo.

Dentro de las actividades de Perú Feeds Your Soul!, que se desarrolla en paralelo a la feria Expo Milán, hay una dedicada al pisco. Pepe Moquillaza, experto productor artesanal, es el especialista encargado de las viajar hasta allá para difundir las bondades de nuestro destilado en charlas y demostraciones. Sobre el tema, El Trinche conversó con Moquillaza.

Pepe, viajas a Milán en el marco de la Expo. ¿Cuáles son los planes?

Promperú y Mincetur están desarrollando un programa de cenas para personalidades y máster clases para profesionales. Estamos a la orden.

¿Qué se espera obtener de estas presentaciones?

Fortalecer el posicionamiento del pisco a nivel profesional (licorerías, sommeliers, bartenders, importadores y prensa especializada, no hay actividades de retail).

¿Qué opinas del tema del pisco en Milán?

La verdad no sé hace cuánto tiempo no vamos a una Expo. Estuve en Hannover 2000, Perú no asistió y el Cóndor Pasa se escuchaba en el stand de Ecuador. Con pocas marcas presentes en el mercado italiano (la grappa es un hueso duro), para el pisco el daño es moderado y se compensa con la gran cobertura lograda en la prensa italiana. Para la Marca País y el turismo sí puede tener impacto

¿Cómo vez el trabajo que se está haciendo en Perú Feeds Your Soul!?

Creo que es una buena reacción de Promperú y Mincetur presentar un ciclo corto a las estrellas del firmamento gastronómico del Perú. El posicionamiento está muy bien definido, si comparas las visiones país de Chile (potencia alimentarias) y Perú (alimenta el alma) la diferenciación Con respecto a la presentación del pisco estoy en plena labor de investigación para construir un contenido solvente y con raíces histórico/geográficos. Milán es una plaza exigente y no es una fecha cualquiera para nosotros peruanos.
